NAC Session: Regulation of online platforms - About
Global trends, local perspectives
Over recent years, online platforms have come under increased scrutiny for the way they deal with illegal and harmful content online and for the market power they hold in digital advertising markets. As a result, regulators across the globe are looking to put forward new rules which could potentially help drive greater transparency and accountability in the digital advertising ecosystem.
During this session, advertiser associations from around the world will talk about what this looks like in their countries and what it could mean for advertisers – including a presentation from WFA on developments at EU level (EU Digital Services Act). We’ll open up a discussion about how the industry should be responding and the role for WFA and national advertiser associations. Discussions will feed into WFA’s ongoing policy work on this topic.
