The Position
Global Sourcing Manager Energy & Fluids.
The role is responsible for supporting delivery of company targets on cost and cash flow while leading strategic category management to ensure that supply security, quality, reputation, ESG, and innovation priorities are fulfilled. Total spend under management exceeds USD $1300mio annually with procurement coverage of key business and professional services categories globally. The scope includes direct negotiation responsibilities for priority local and global contracts, often negotiating with regional and country suppliers.
This role reports to the Global Category Director Utilities, Auxiliaries, Flavors and Co-products, and will have frequent exposure to senior leadership (Chiefs/SLT, VPs/L1s, global directors) across various business functions and geographies as the primary internal stakeholder base.
While the role does not have direct reports, it requires high maturity in leadership to coordinate efforts, collaborative long-term projects, global sourcing exercises, benchmarking, and target delivery through the network of buyers in our 6 geographic zones. The dotted-line reports include buyers in our Regional procurement teams and our 6 Regional Procurement Offices.
The role is based in our Global Headquarters in Zug, Switzerland.
Here’s what you would be doing
- Develop Global Category and Sourcing Strategy for Energy & Fluids package specifically on Heat and Electricity
- Lead, strongly support global and regional E&F Tenders, Negotiations and Supply Contracts, to maximize value and minimize total cost for ABInBev
- Manage VIC spend of $1.3Bn at a global level
- Drive fuel mix strategy to reduce FX exposure and fuel dependencies through sourcing projects, and improve energy efficiencies/reduce energy consumption
- Lead 1YP E&F budgeting process globally in close collaboration with zones
- Perform category and supplier risk analysis and develop Business Continuity Plans at global and regional level
- Identify, codify and implement Category PI, VE and VPO initiatives with cross-functional teams, coordinate and monitor on monthly basis zone execution as per aligned targets and milestones, and committed Champions VIC savings
- Develop and manage Global Strategic and Sourcing Projects with support of GPO Sourcing Pool and RAU Scrum Team. Coach team members against key deliverables and milestones
- Develop and manage global supplier relationships and strategic collaboration (SRM) E&F supplier programs, focused on Value Engineering, Supplier-Enabled Innovation, Risk Management.
- Lead scaling up of Eclipse Program to accelerate Scope 3 globally. Support and provide necessary tools to category teams to decarbonize supply chain with their key suppliers
- Professionalize global and zone commodity price risk management for electricity and natural gas
- Coordinate E&F commodity and market data, intel and analytics
- Budget and negotiate market intel, advisory, tender, contracting and hedge execution service on behalf of zones
- Coach and mentor RPO E&F category teams
- Develop and establish E&F Center of Excellence develop category strategy and execution, category best practices, benchmarking across the zones
- Develop necessary capabilities in the zone to successfully drive E&F global strategy execution regionally
- Closely collaborate cross functionally with zone E&F supply, procurement teams to manage E&F costs not only on price, but also performance through zone benchmarking and other tools
You have these key skills, knowledge, and attributes
- You have a university degree and/or a complementary advanced level degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, business, economics, supply chain, operations, etc.)
- You have around 3-5 years of professional experience, likely with a focus in procurement roles (category management, strategic sourcing, negotiations), other relevant supply chain management roles in energy sector, or strategy/management consulting
- You are highly comfortable with data and quantitative analysis, including intermediate to advanced Excel capabilities, and you are adept at turning data into insights and communicating to leadership with strong visualizations, compelling business cases, and clear recommendations
- You have a professional standard of English; Portuguese and Spanish languages would be an asset
- You are a fast learner, rapidly absorbing new concepts and diving deep into new business areas to quickly gain understanding of different industries, business models, and suppliers
- You demonstrate the 80/20 rule and have a bias for action, finding ways to move forward and prioritize
- You are great at building cross-functional relationships and credibility with business leaders, your teams, external stakeholders, and peers
- You communicate and engage across your stakeholders delivering impactful messages, negotiating with complex variables, and influencing outcomes
