The Opportunity
Our location in Abbott Park, IL, currently has an opportunity for a Manager, Competitive Intelligence & Strategy. Leads the identification and prioritization of current and emerging growth opportunities based on market, category and consumer trends, and competitive insights. Helps inform strategic planning, portfolio strategy/white space, and innovation and creates competitive advantage for Abbott Nutrition International teams.
What You’ll Work On
Growth Opportunity Identification
Understand market, category, and consumer macro trends to uncover growth pockets in emerging markets/consumer segments and serve as an early warning function
Identify, quantify, and prioritize demand space growth opportunities across categories and brands to help inform strategic planning, portfolio strategy/white space, innovation, brand communication, activation, and commercial execution
Partner with Global Marketing to develop growth frameworks for key strategic growth opportunities
Competitive Intelligence
Conducts 360-degree assessments of competitive landscape and specific competitors using primary and secondary research, and publicly available data sources including investor portals, analyst briefings, social media, trade shows/congresses, syndicated data etc.
Distill complex structured and unstructured competitive intelligence into real-time insights for commercial leadership teams
Produce materials on market and competitive trends and insights; global dissemination of current and emerging growth opportunities based on competitive insights
Assist in the development and maintenance of a competitive intelligence portal on ANI’s decision intelligence platform (Periscope)
Lead wargaming workshops for strategic initiatives and/or product launches in key markets
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred
10+ years of progressive relevant experience, preferably in CPG management consulting or a combination of supplier-side and manufacturer-side experience. Consumer Health Care industry experience is a plus
Strong analytics skills and comfortable with financial statements, market research and dissecting earnings reports
Skilled at diagnosing complex problems, simplifying complex data, and translating consumer and analytical insights to business opportunities
Advanced skills in base business tools (Excel/Powerpoint); Experience in Data Visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI is a plus
Outstanding communication skills; ability to think analytically to understand complex or ambiguous problems or issues and communicate solutions/conclusions clearly and concisely
Experience deploying new capability in a complex and highly matrixed organization
Strong project management skills; successfully executing complex projects from design to completion

The base pay for this position is
$90,700.00 – $181,300.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
