DescriptionThe Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM) is a flagship initiative for the WFA, and brings together advertisers, agencies, media platforms, and industry groups to work together to reduce harmful content online and eliminate it from advertising investment and advertising campaigns. The GARM is made up of over 150 media experts from 65 marketing organizations, all 6 agency holding companies, 7 industry groups, and 10 media platforms.

The GARM launched in June 2019, and we are at a critical stage in our growth. We are looking for our first team member in GARM to act as a pivotal link in operations and leadership. The successful candidate will report into the Global Initiative Lead, Rob Rakowitz.

The main responsibilities of the GARM Initiative Manager will include:
• Direct and manage essential project management and communications that support the GARM leadership team, working groups, and community (co-develop agendas, manage meeting minutes, action items and follow-up, technical meeting management)
• Manage the publication of community communications and information flows - inclusive of helping source and edit monthly newsletter content from GARM leadership team and the GARM community
• Support the GARM Initiative Lead in driving solutions development (eventually by leading a GARM work stream), after having developed deep knowledge of the GARM online safety issues
• Support and liaise closely with the WFA admin, comms and member management teams
• Ensure that operations and decisions adhere to WFA compliance standards in coordination with competition compliance lawyers

Personal abilities & experience
• 2-5 years' experience in advertising, media, or digital technologies
• Deep interest in social media, with a focus on business and regulatory models
• Ability to hit the ground running and lead projects largely autonomously
• Self-starter and entrepreneurial
• Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once
• Curiosity and creativity for using technology to build virtual communities
• Interest and passion for organizing information and communications
• Working knowledge of CRM systems
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Mother tongue (or equivalent) level of written and spoken English
• University education
