DescriptionAs part of Global Sourcing Center (GSC) and the dynamic Global Sourcing Indirect team, the Global Sourcing Manager, Marketing (Media) is responsible for leading Media categories (Placement, Technologies….) managing a spend of circa. 400 Million $ Spend for General Mills worldwide. He/She is responsible for defining and implementing the Media sourcing strategy.

He/She is responsible for defining and implementing the Media sourcing strategy
In partnership with the regions, the business, the regional category leads and a team of buyers and Sourcing analysts, the Global Sourcing Manager Marketing-Media is accountable and responsible for developing worldwide media sourcing strategies and implementing them across all regions, ensuring deployment and category compliance, building best in class partner relationships and delivering global performance metrics for the categories including fulfillment of Total Value.
He/She leads the sourcing agenda in his/her scope in close partnership with the regions, organizing and synchronizing actions (such as events at a global and/or regional level, pipeline creation, supplier management activities, etc.). He/She is also collaborating highly with Marketing and Media functions to understand business priorities and opportunities for Sourcing to drive value. This is a critical role with high exposure to senior management within a dynamic internal environment and requires strong influencing, a willingness to learn and communication skills as well as strong ability to drive change.
As part of the Global Indirect Sourcing Leadership Team, he/she is also performing cross-categories activities and participate to the continuous improvement of the Indirect platform.
Owns delivery of annual financial plan, cost savings and value creation target for the categories including ensuring the regions are aligned to appropriate strategies and plans to enable delivery of financial commitments.
Collaborates with region Sourcing Category Managers and buyers to develop forward looking Sourcing strategies in alignment with business strategies.
Provides guidance to Regional Buyers and Sourcing Analysts to execute strategic sourcing and support activities.
Leads Sourcing events such as Total Value Ideation Sessions in partnership with Region Sourcing and business partners.
Works cross-functionally with global and regional counterparts (High exposure to senior Stakeholders).
Manages all aspects of the strategic sourcing process. Own several aspects of supplier relationship and supplier development from industry analysis, Rfx creation, negotiations, contracting, implementation and on-going supplier management.
Partner with Region Sourcing and cross-functional business partners to develop strategic supplier relationships governance to deliver business priorities. And, foster continuous improvement to deliver new sources of Total Value for the business.
Develops in-depth global market and industry analysis. Develops category strategy, leads implementation, and manages the company’s risk.
Establishes reputation as global category expert and represents category/Sourcing interests on cross-functional & global project teams.
Contributes internal and external ideas/projects to help grow the business.
Cultivates and maintains effective working relationships with internal stakeholders. Builds and exhibits cross-functional influencing skills across virtual and in-person teams across regions and cultures.
Provides superior support to regions around global category implementation of business strategies and project management.
Understands key cost drivers of the global categories and uses understanding to develop negotiation and cost management strategies
Demonstrates strong knowledge of One Global Sourcing business processes and systems and takes the initiative to transfer skills to others.
Plays an active role in process and systems improvement within Sourcing.
Complies with corporate and regulatory policies and accounting practices. Masters governance and control procedures to protect company assets including ensuring adherence to the Global Category Governance structure for all Sourcing projects.
