Genital Herpes impacts over 500 million people worldwide. This is a condition for which there have been no new treatments in over 30 years, yet there is significant unmet need to treat symptoms, improve quality of life and reduce transmission. As the Senior Global Marketing direct your will be responsible for developing the global commercial brand strategy.

Job Purpose

The Senior Global Marketing Director will be responsible for leading the development of the Global Brand Strategy. Your mission will be to build a deep understanding of our science, customers, patients, and competitors to define our 5-10 asset strategy. Working in partnership with our medical, insights, R&D and payer teams to leverage functional expertise to define our route to disrupting the treatment landscape for people living with genital herpes.

Your Responsibilities
- Build a deep understanding of current and long-term customer/patient needs, competitor performance and market trends to develop core insights
- Identify customer and patient segments to inform brand and omnichannel strategies
- Leverage insights to drive a clear, simple, compelling, competitive brand strategy to optimize value to patient and GSK.
- Formulate clear and engaging ambition for the brand for the medium and long term
- Engage stakeholders in co-create markets to generate confidence in the medicine strategy, gaining followership
- Collaborate with and influence senior stakeholders, cross-functional leaders across the Regions, LOC business heads and General Managers, through mature, credible interactions and engagements
- Provide commercial input to core business processes (eg Core Commercial Cycle, Finance updates, Long Range Forecasts)
- Identify commercial business risks or critical issues and their mitigation actions
- Lead / contribute to investment and governance proposals
- Contribute to Global Marketing Directors peer group and specialty care group activities

Basic Qualifications

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Demonstrated strength in strategic, operational & leadership experience
- Senior Marketing experience in an LOC
- Experience in launching and commercializing specialty medicines
- Experience with early assets and partnering with R&D
- Good understanding of evolving digital landscape that can be leveraged to build competitive brand strategies
- Demonstrated ability to gather customer insights and use these successfully in different environmental settings
- Understanding of the development process from asset inception through lifecycle management
- Demonstrated competency in full multi-channel marketing strategy development & execution.
- Well-versed in core marketing principles and able to conceptualize and articulate a vision for the brand that energizes our internal and external customers

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the minimum qualifications, the ideal candidate will possess the following:
- BU Head experience and / or GM experience. Marketing Lead of Tier 1/2 countries.
- Demonstrated direct-to-consumer marketing competency is an additional asset
- MBA and/or advance marketing or science degree or equivalent
- Experience in US marketing
- Previous global experience preferred
- Infectious disease product commercialization experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and tangible experience in product positioning and messaging
- Strong, team-oriented leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence, lead, negotiate and work effectively at all levels within a matrix environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills; track record of effective presentations, delivering cohesive messages to external and internal customers, including executive leadership
- Ability to convey complex information simply. Capacity to network effectively and build strong relationships across different countries and cultures and functions.
- Ability to learn new concepts and data quickly along multiple dimensions - including but not limited to: scientific data, business drivers/ challenges
