Event Code of Conduct

At WFA, we are committed to fostering a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for all individuals involved in our events. This includes members, guests, speakers, sponsors, third-party contractors and WFA staff.

The following Event Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for behaviours and the consequences of breaches to ensure a positive experience for everyone during our events. All participants and attendees are expected to adhere to these principles to ensure a safe and respectful event environment for everyone.

Expected behaviour

  • Treat others with respect, kindness, and professionalism;
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive atmosphere;
  • Engage in constructive dialogue and debate with courtesy;
  • Respect differing viewpoints and engage in discussions in good faith;
  • Adhere to venue rules, event policies, and applicable laws;
  • Comply with requests from event organisers, staff, and security personnel.

Unacceptable behaviour

The following behaviours will not be tolerated:

  • Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation in any form, including but not limited to age, race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, or religion;
  • Disruptive or disrespectful behaviours during sessions, networking, or any event activities;
  • Unwanted physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention;
  • Threats, violence, or incitement of harm;
  • Unauthorised recording or distribution of confidential information;
  • Damage to property or theft;
  • Intoxication or drug use.

Confidentiality

  • Any confidential or proprietary information shared during the event must remain private;
  • Participants must respect the privacy and confidentiality of fellow attendees, speakers, sponsors, and staff;
  • Unauthorised sharing or distribution of private discussions, personal data, or proprietary materials is strictly prohibited.

Respectful debate & discussion

  • Healthy debate and discussion are encouraged but must remain respectful and professional;
  • Disagreements should be expressed constructively, without personal attacks or hostility;
  • If discussions become heated, participants are encouraged to take a step back and re-engage with mutual respect.

Breaches of this Code of Conduct

Breaches may result in:

  • A verbal or written warning;
  • Immediate removal from the event;
  • Suspension or banning from future events;
  • Involvement of venue security or law enforcement if necessary;
  • Termination of agreements with sponsors, speakers, or third-party contractors.

Reporting breaches

If you experience or witness a breach of this Code of Conduct, please report it to WFA events staff or Human Resources immediately.
