Our trusted portfolio of brands – including Sensodyne®, Panadol®, Advil®, Voltaren®, Theraflu®, Otrivin®, and Centrum® – lead in resilient and growing categories. What sets us apart is our unique blend of deep human understanding and trusted science.

Now it’s time to fully realise the full potential of our business and our people. We do this through our Win as One strategy. It puts our purpose – to deliver better everyday health with humanity – at the heart of everything we do. It unites us, inspires us, and challenges us to be better every day, driven by our agile, performance-focused culture.

The Global Content Governance and Risk Director is responsible for establishing and leading Haleon’s global content governance framework. This pivotal role ensures that all marketing content produced by the Global Content Factory is compliant, effective, and delivered at the speed of culture. The Director will pioneer a new Content Factory model, embedding compliance and legal standards directly into the content creation process working closely with the VP Global Content Factory. As a key leader and subject matter expert within the Marketing Excellence function, this individual will drive the operational strategy for content compliance across all markets, ensuring the company can build its brands with agility, speed, and confidence in a complex global regulatory environment.

The role sits in the Marketing Excellence Content Factory team and reports into the VP Global Content Factory. The role has a team of 2 direct reports who are located in different locations globally to ensure 24 hr responsiveness to governance and risk requirements for the Company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a Global Content Governance Framework: Design, document, and roll out a comprehensive, end-to-end governance model for all marketing content. This includes creating clear policies, standards, and workflows for content creation, approval, distribution, and retirement that balance global consistency with local market agility.
  • SME in global marketing regulations and compliance: Serve as the subject matter expert on global regulations and laws pertaining to the marketing of consumer health products. This includes staying ahead of changes in advertising standards, data privacy (e.g., GDPR), and specific requirements from bodies like the FDA and other international agencies, and translating these into actionable guidelines that can be applied in content generation
  • Drive simplification and standardisation of content approval: Work closely with other members of the Global Content Factory team to develop a tiered risk assessment process that defines acceptable business risk and builds frameworks and tools that facilitate automated approvals to enable high content volume production while still protecting the company from compliance risks
  • Team leadership: Develop and manage a team of subject matter experts responsible for content compliance and risk management
  • Capability development: Work with the Marketing Capability team in Marketing Excellence and the L&D team to develop and deliver compliance-related training for relevant individuals at Global and OU levels
  • Lead external engagement and advocacy: Act as Haleon’s primary representative in discussions with external regulatory bodies, advertising standards councils, and industry associations. Proactively monitor the external landscape, influence developing regulations and standards where appropriate, and translate external shifts into proactive adjustments to the company's internal governance framework and risk appetite.

Essential Qualifications and skills

  • Significant experience within the consumer health, pharmaceutical, or a similarly highly regulated consumer-facing industry
  • Expert knowledge of global regulations and laws pertaining to the marketing of consumer health products, including advertising standards, data privacy (e.g., GDPR), and requirements from bodies like the FDA and other international agencies
