You can still nominate your marketer of 2024 until September 15.

WFA has named the senior industry experts who will help decide the winner of the 2024 Global Marketer of the Year, WFA’s annual award celebrating the role global marketers play in building better brands that deliver growth for their businesses, as well as for planet and society.

The 17-strong jury is made up of senior marketers in WFA membership, as well as industry experts from WFA partners including Effie Worldwide, Kantar, Lumency, The Marketing Academy, as well as United Talent Agency. The expert jury will select the shortlisted candidates and contribute half the voting power for the ultimate winner, with the rest provided by an industry-wide vote. The expert jury will be chaired, once again, by Raja Rajamannar, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer of Mastercard and WFA President.

This award, which is supported by The Drum, is open to any client-side marketer in a senior global or regional position, who has worked for their company for a minimum of two years. There are no entry fees and nominations can be made until 15 September at globalmarketeroftheyear.com.

“We are very excited to count on the support of such an amazing panel of marketing leaders and industry experts, who will bring a wide range of different perspectives from around the world. Together we will seek to identify the regional and global marketers who faced up to the challenges of 2024 and found solutions that help drive growth, lead our business forward and set an example for others,” said Stephan Loerke, WFA CEO.

“There are not many awards that recognize the wholesome performance of a marketer. WFA tries to fill that gap. Global Marketer of the Year is an incredible recognition and celebration of the best marketers, those who have produced amazing work and made a significant contribution to their business and to the industry and society more broadly,” said Raja Rajamannar, Mastercard Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, WFA President and chair of the WFA Global Marketer of the Year expert jury.

All nominations should demonstrate outstanding leadership in two or more of the following areas, with particular reference to their activities in the last 12 months:

  • Driving initiatives that contribute to business growth;
  • Developing talent and capabilities within their marketing organisations;
  • Delivering stand-out innovation and creativity; and
  • Demonstrating industry leadership, for example in relation to Diversity & Inclusion and environmental sustainability.

The expert jury will select the shortlist from among those nominated for the award in October 2024, with those making the top announced in November.

The industry at large will then be asked to help select the winner by casting their votes in the public voting round of the award, scheduled for November-December. The winner will be announced in January 2025.
