Premios a la Eficacia has been a barometer of the state of the advertising industry in Spain for half a decade. And the 46.8% increase in the number of entries this year compared to 2014 proves the sector shows signs of economic recovery, says the Association of Advertisers in Spain (AEA), which will co-host the event.

Commenting on the number of entries, the president of the 17th edition of Eficacia, PepsiCo Iberia chief Xavier Orriols, stressed that "never before has an award been so successful in getting the unanimous recognition of its merits by the industry."

Since 1997, the strongest three years have been 2006 with 185 and 2005 and 2015 with 163 entries. Over the course of the latest 17 editions there have been 2,220 cases, and starting this year the participating campaigns will be available on an online platform, which will include a summary of the campaign, strategy, execution, results and key insights.

106 advertisers and 85 agencies are competing in this year's Premios a la Eficacia. The advertisers with the most entries are Heineken (9), Grupo Mahou-San Miguel and McDonald's (5) and Coca-Cola and Samsung (4). McCann, OMD and Starcom medivest (10), Ogilvy & Mather Publicidad (9) and TBWA/EspaƱa (7) are the agencies with the largest number of campaigns submitted.

The award ceremony will take place at Teatro Real in Madrid, on the 29th of October.
