On June 16-17 2015, WFA hosted its 14th annual Latin America regional meeting in the offices of Grupo Bimbo in Mexico City. The meeting saw a record number of participants, bringing together over 70 representatives of the WFA's national advertiser associations from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay, as well as senior corporate members from companies with activities in the LATAM region. Executives from Consejo de la Comunicación, the Mexican Consumer Goods Council - ConMéxico (Consejo Mexicano de la Industria de Productos de Consumo) and the Mexican advertising self-regulation council - CONAR (Consejo de Autorregulación y Ética Publicitaria) also attended the meeting.

Discussions covered public affairs issues related to responsible advertising: the importance of self-regulation, the challenges of marketing to children, measures recently implemented to ensure responsible alcohol advertising, as well as marketing topics such as digital transformation, integration and agency collaboration, maximising the impact of digital content.

The second day of the meeting was dedicated to the activity of WFA's national associations in Latin America. Among the topics discussed were how to get associations fit for the future, what marketing needs to look like in a connected age, media efficiency and efficacy, the use of data and the latest trends in advertising.

The next regional meeting for Latin America will take place in Colombia, co-hosted by the Advertisers Association of Colombia (ANDA Colombia). The dates and the location are to be announced.
