In October, the Advertisers' Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) held its annual ADVAN Awards for Marketing Excellence, in celebration of the hard work of Nigerian marketers.

Among this year's ADVAN Awards categories were Consumer Insight, Corporate Social Responsibility, Experiential Marketing, Innovation, Brand Manager of the Year, and the Future Leader of Marketing.

Guinness Nigeria's Orijin Bitters bagged Brand of the Year, with runners-up being Maggi and Coca-Cola. Orijin's Brand Manager Nnamdi Ezeani was named Brand Manager of the Year.

Coca-Cola won Campaign of the Year, while Johnnie Walker and Guinness Made of Black came in second and third respectively. MTN picked up the CSR award, with Guinness and P&G's Safeguard close behind.

The ADVAN Awards acknowledge and reward Nigerian marketing professionals that have made outstanding contributions to the profession, highlighting the fundamental role marketing occupies in business and the public sector.
