As part of its first Global Marketer Week in Kuala Lumpur, WFA will host a public affairs meeting on 15 March to discuss the biggest policy challenges facing brand marketers in the decades to come.

The meeting, entitled "Will we still advertise in 2025? A public affairs challenge," will be structured into three sessions looking from a public affairs perspective at how the world is changing, what society's changing expectations of brands are and what marketers need to do to meet them.

Participants will hear from thought-leaders and innovators in the marketing space, including The Futures Company and RealEyes and discuss how changing technologies, demographics and social trends are reshaping the world and the potential of marketing.

They will also hear from UNICEF about what they expect responsible brands to be doing on key issues, such as data and privacy, the impact of marketing on children and brand marketing in specific sectors, including food and cosmetics.

The session will also take a deep dive into the realities of ad blocking, learning what WFA sees as the role of brands going forward and getting Google's insights on how real world data on what ad formats people don't like has to be at the heart of the industry's answer.

Finally, leading brands will share on what we need to do as an industry in order to be sustainable, from making the case for the value of advertising to society, including looking at new research conducted by Deloitte for WFA, to finding how industry can show leadership and partner with policy-makers in delivering more responsible advertising in Asia and globally.

The WFA Global Marketer Week will take place from 15-18 March in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. For more information about the week's events, click here.
