The appointment continues a long association with the WFA. Gary was Chairperson of the WFA’s APAC Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) Forum from 2010 to 2016.

His core focus will be bringing APAC-based marketers together in line with the WFA’s peer-to-peer approach and grow the WFA network in Asia-Pacific. He will work closely with WFA’s Asia-Pacific leadership team of senior marketers.

Lim started his career in Australia, arriving in China in the mid 90s to work agency side at J. Walter Thompson and Saatchi and Saatchi. He later worked at McCann Erickson in Malaysia.

He has also worked in a variety of client roles around Asia, including an eight year stint as IMC Director at Johnson and Johnson and more recently as Head of Data and Analytics for Asia-Pacific at insurance brand, Assurant.

“I’m delighted to welcome Gary to the WFA team. He has a wealth of marketing knowledge and understanding from working for clients and agencies across a variety of senior roles and in different sectors. He is going to be a huge asset to helping our members identify new routes to growth across Asia-Pacific,” said Stephan Loerke, WFA CEO.

“I’m excited about bringing the region’s best marketers together and bringing the best of the rest of the world back to APAC. I’ve witnessed first-hand how the WFA model helps people learn from and inspire each other, cut down on trial and error and save time and money,” said Gary Lim. “It’s exciting to be able to build the WFA brand out further in APAC.”
