In late January, members of the Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA) formally welcomed Adi Timbol-Hernandez, PR & Communications Manager at McDonalds Philippines, as their new president. She takes over from Stephanie Ann Cua, Retail Marketing Manager at Shell Philippines.

Under a 'millennial thinking leadership' mandate, Hernandez aims to shift PANA and its members' focus from merely understanding the benefits of digital to maximising digital as a platform for growth. She also plans to broaden PANA membership by including SMEs and encouraging them to adopt responsible marketing communications practices, as well as lead PANA in championing responsible digital advertising.
"PANA's position would reflect the need to strike the right balance between embracing the nuances of digital and empowering the voice of our consumers and the concerns of industry stakeholders for a level playing field for advertisers", she said.

Aside from Hernandez's appointment, PANA also welcomed a new Board which include:

  • Anna Legarda-Locsin, Communications Department Head at P&G %u2013 Vice President

  • Luis Enrico Salvador, Regulatory Affairs Director at Mead Johnson Nutrition Phils. Inc. %u2013 Secretary

  • Tricia Marie Quiambao, Head of Strategic Management at Bank of the Philippine Islands %u2013 Treasurer

  • Mary Julie Balarbar, Marketing Department Chair at De La Salle University, PRO

  • Garry Pactao, Activation and Events Manager at Philippine Seven Corporation (7 Eleven) %u2013 Auditor
