Over 350 marketers from different sectors in Germany gathered for the 22nd OWM Symposium organised by the German Advertisers Association (OWM) in Berlin to discuss marketing transformation.

Under the theme “Advertise, Act, Grow: Transforming marketing in a complex and disruptive world”, OWM presented the findings of their latest member survey which found that although 46% of their members plan on increasing their advertising investments in 2018, 70% are not prepared for a digital transformation in marketing.



During her opening speech, Tina Beuchler, OWM’s Chairwoman said: "Digital transformation is in full swing. If we want to continue to be successful as advertisers, a radical transformation, a real transformation, must take place within companies and marketing departments”.



Presentations also centred on how to master and drive marketing transformation. Speakers included Stefanie Wurst, Head of Marketing at BMW Germany, Jürgen Blomenkamp, ​​CEO & Chairman of GroupM Germany, and Martin Ott, Managing Director Central Europe at Facebook.
