More than 1,700 digital professionals from over 30 countries in Africa and beyond gathered in Casablanca for the fourth edition of the African Digital Summit (ADS) in February, organised by the Moroccan Advertisers Association (GAM).

GAM President Mounir Jazouli said that the summit’s objective is “to allow a structured and sustainable cooperation and partnership between the continental ecosystem with a particular focus on co-creation, co-innovation, and co-development.”

The annual GAM event is dubbed the largest digital gathering in Africa. It brings together advertisers, marketers, digital professionals, media, agencies and publishers for two days of high-level talks from local and international speakers around digital trends including voice assistants, artificial intelligence, computational creativity and more.

Speakers included top digital industry leaders from AT&T, Contagious, eBay, eyeo, Google and Twitter, as well as heads of national advertiser associations in Kenya and Nigeria. The results of the 4th edition of GAM’s annual survey on digital trends "Digital Trends Morocco" (DTM) was also presented at the summit.

Before the summit, GAM launched the African Digital TV, an initiative that aims to promote digital in Africa. The platform will make livestreaming of the event possible and accessible to more digital professionals and the wider public. It will also serve as a space for exchange and debate and aims to become the preferred platform for professional content and news on the digital world, insights and trends.

A soft launch was done in January and will soon be housed in africandigital.tv and possibly turned into a satellite channel in the future.
