New ABA handbook highlights best practices for brands on how to tackle harassment at events
The
Brazilian Association of Advertisers (ABA) recently launched the
“ABA Handbook of Good Practices and Responsibility for Ending Harassment in Events”, as part of the association’s 60
th anniversary celebrations. This follows recent initiatives that ABA has been leading on around gender, including the
launch of the first local Unstereotype Alliance in Latin America.
The handbook gives an overview of real-life scenarios during events where professionals from a wide range of functions and responsibilities are exposed to harassment, from clients and promoters to bar employees and artists. It also provides best practices and safeguards that should be observed by brands who sponsor and advertise around large events to address the occurrence of harassment directly and effectively.
ABA worked on the guide in partnership with local consultancy Think Eva and was supported by Heineken Brazil, Pernod Ricard Brazil and AMPRO (Brazilian Promotional Marketing Association).
The English and Portuguese versions of the ABA guide can be found
