In December 2020, the European Commission published the Digital Services Act and Digital Markets Act legislative proposals as part of the Commission’s strategy on digital and data. These two legislative proposals introduce new rules for online platforms and measures to increase transparency and accountability online. Some of the measures proposed could go some way toward preventing advertisers from inadvertently funding illegal and harmful content and help create more diversity and transparency in EU digital advertising markets.
The purpose of the DSA Task Force is to discuss latest developments and coordinate ongoing advocacy efforts. This meeting will be an opportunity to deep-dive into the legislative proposals, brainstorm on the potential opportunities and challenges they present for advertisers and further define WFA's policy position and outreach strategy
For more everything we know so far about the DSA and how it could impact advertisers, please see our DSA one pager.
