Warsaw, July 11, 2019 – Plans for a new advertiser association in Poland have been announced by STARS, a major Polish marketing consultancy, and the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA).

The aim is to launch the Polish Advertisers Association by the end of 2020, creating a new and powerful voice for the interests of brand marketers in the country.

Total annual ad spend in Poland is currently Zloty 9.5bn or $2.5bn (source: Zenith Advertising Expenditure Forecast), making the country one of the bigger markets in the world without a local association to represent the views and concerns of advertisers.

The Polish Advertisers Association will be independent, not for profit and work with its advertiser members to help them address their common challenges in the market and share learnings.

STARS will facilitate the creation of the association and rally the support of Polish brand owners, with WFA encouraging the many multinational advertisers in its membership that operate in the country to add their weight to the new organisation.

Commenting on the announcement, Rafal Szysz, STARS CEO and Founder, who will act as the interim lead for the initiative, said: “I am very happy to note that advertisers have been more active and vocal about their needs in Poland recently. The formation of a Polish Advertisers Association will build on this activity and will help raise the profile of the advertiser agenda in Poland as well as the need for close collaboration with the global advertising community being led by WFA.”

Stephan Loerke, WFA CEO, said: “What makes WFA truly global is the national advertiser associations in our network who are championing and defending advertisers’ interests locally. We look forward to working closely with Rafal and STARS in making the Polish Advertisers Association a reality and helping advertisers in Poland deliver effective, efficient and sustainable marketing communications.”
