In late 2019, Autocontrol Colombia obtained its legal status. The creation of the new advertising self-regulatory organisation was led by ANDA Colombia (advertisers) and founded with ASOMEDIOS (media owners), ANDI (business owners), ASOGRASAS (edible oils and fats industry), and the Colombian Chamber of Digital Commerce. It is supported by UN Women, advertising agency DDB, AMI (press) and the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá.

Autocontrol Colombia represents a significant achievement in ANDA Colombia’s history and the realisation of a pledge made at a WFA regional meeting in Cartagena in 2016.

ANDA Colombia hopes that the country's new self-regulatory body will become a blueprint for ethical best practice in Latin America and internationally. The body’s next ambition is to collaborate with agencies, media owners, and social media platforms to further strengthen advertising self-regulation in Colombia.
