On the agenda:
• An overview of a recent WFA survey on privacy in the APAC region, presented by Campaign Asia, which looked at the main regulatory and market challenges advertisers are facing in the region and their potential impacts;
• A discussion on how Unilever are preparing for these market and regulatory changes in the APAC region, with a focus on the frameworks and practices that advertisers might establish for proper governance and demonstrating why privacy compliance is critical for both regulators and consumers.
• A presentation from Accountable Tech, a US NGO which has been leading campaigns calling for a ban on surveillance advertising;
• A WFA member discussion on the value of personalised targeted advertising and how member companies such as Detusche Telekom and Pernod Ricard are reacting to regulatory calls for bans on targeted advertising.
