At the end of 2014, the Indonesian Advertising Association (APPINA) held an event in Jakarta to publically promote an updated version of the Indonesian Advertising Board's Code of Ethics. The event showed the strong commitment of the industry (with over twenty companies represented) to continue to advance standards in Indonesia.

The event included an in-depth session led by Mr. Hery Margono, the Head of the Formulating Committee of Indonesia Ad Code of Ethics, to highlight how advertisers would now have to raise their level of ambition when developing campaigns. Practical examples were used to show how ads would be determined to be compliant or non-compliant, to make it clear that the new rules would have a real impact in the standard of advertising in Indonesia.

As a leader in ASEAN, Indonesia plays an important role in setting the regulatory agenda. The progressive approach of the Indonesia Advertising Board therefore not only brings benefits for consumers in Indonesia, but also contributes to promoting best practice in the entire region.
