Mainostajien Liitto renames itself to Marketing Finland

Mainostajien Liitto’s name change is part of the association’s transformation strategy. The name “Marketing Finland” was chosen as part of an open competition, with over 700 name suggestions received.
Riikka-Maria Lemminki, Marketing Finland CEO, said the name change was an important milestone because the word “advertiser” can sometimes be misleading. “Modern marketing requires much more strategic direction within companies than advertising”, she said.
The new positioning is accompanied by a new website and branding. Marketing Finland also rebranded their annual marketing event “Advertising Day” to MRKTNG Day happening on September 9th, as well as their quarterly magazine for members “Advertiser Magazine” to MRKTNG.
