The Association of Portuguese Advertisers (APAN) recently organised the first-ever virtual APAN Communication Effectiveness Awards (Prémios Eficácia da Comunicação).
For this year’s edition, APAN decided to give a part of the revenues of the awards to creative industry professionals in need in Portugal through the HAND Creative Chain. The initiative aims to lend a helping hand to people with creative talent, such as publicists, editors, artists, actors, photographers, directors and musicians who have lost their jobs or have been impacted by the health crisis.
The Walt Disney Company Portugal won this year’s APAN Effectivess Grand Prix for their campaign “Debut” (“Estreia-te”) developed with Fox Creative, and was named Advertiser of the Year. The campaign gave a voice to fans of Walt Disney Company channels by encouraging them to record themselves narrating lines from the trailers of their favourite TV series. They received over 60,000 audio files from more than 25,000 people through Whatsapp. The media company won a total of 18 prizes including the Journalists’ Grand Prize.
Other Effectiveness winners include Unilever FIMA, P&G, Samsung, Lidl, McDonald’s and Turismo de Portugal, among others.
