The WFA has announced that the next Global Marketer Week will take place in Athens, in partnership with the Hellenic Advertisers Association (SDE) on April 5th to 8th 2022.

The hope is that by the spring of next year the pandemic will be under control and members will be able to meet in person again, after two years of virtual meetings.

The showpiece event will be the WFA Global Marketer Conference, co-hosted in partnership with SDE, which will bring together some of the global industry’s biggest brands to share strategies for growth in a fast-changing world and inspire marketers with innovation across a wide range of categories, media channels and regions.

The week will also include a number of side events for both public affairs and marketing professionals designed to highlight how marketers now need to integrate public affairs priorities into their overall marketing strategies if they are to remain in tune with their consumers.

“I am very excited about going to Athens in 2022 and meeting up with all our members and partners again. By then, hopefully the worst of the pandemic should be behind us. There is going to be an incredible amount of energy and appetite to come together and share. It seems very appropriate that after over a year of lockdown, we should plan our return to in-person meetings in the original home of European civilization. The WFA always thrives on the power of peer-to-peer exchange and while digital communications have been a boon recently, there is no substitute for sharing ideas and experiences face to face,” said Stephan Loerke, CEO of the WFA.
