The Digital Services Act is the EU's upcoming content moderation law which sets ground-breaking internet content rules for online platforms. Some of the measures will increase transparency of online advertising, restrict the use of personal data for the purpose of targeting digital advertisements, and could go some way toward preventing advertisers from inadvertently funding illegal and harmful content.
WFA has developed a briefing on the Digital Services Act (DSA).
The WFA explainer consists of an overview of the main measures in the DSA relevant for advertisers:
• Promoting online advertising transparency
• Regulating ad targeting
• Prohibiting 'dark patterns'
• Requiring age-appropriate design for minors
• Tackling illegal content online
