Marrakech played backdrop to the annual WFA National Associations' Council held on March 20th 2015 during WFA's Global Marketer Week, which took place in Africa for the first time. 17 national advertiser association representatives came together to share and discuss ideas and initiatives for growth taken in their respective markets.

The meeting was chaired by Mike Hughes (ISBA, UK), who updated the group on ISBA's growth strategy and results, in the context of a session focusing on effective and innovative growth. Contributing to the session was also Anders Ericson (Sveriges Annonsörer, Sweden), who briefed the group on the impressive membership growth achieved by the Swedish association and his recipe for success.

During a session built around member communications and the use of digital and traditional channels, Simone Brandon (AANA, Australia) and Chris Van Roey (UBA, Belgium) explained how each of their associations had teamed up with a TV channel to launch content series (Marketing Dividends by AANA in Australia and Z-Advertising by UBA in Belgium) aimed at elevating the profession of marketing.

WFA also shared the results of the recent NAC survey dubbed "Growing your association", which looked at how associations are set up, what are their revenue streams, which services they provide to their members and more.

On this occasion, WFA also announced the launch of the Global Knowledge Base for WFA members.
