The Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) celebrated its 25th anniversary at the annual ADVAN Awards for Marketing Excellence in Lagos in November.
Welcoming ADVAN members and guests, Folake Ani-Mumuney, the association's first female president, emphasised the need for marketers to be thought leaders and shape the future rather than have it shaped for them.
The awards celebrate the most cutting-edge marketers and the most effective marketing campaigns from Nigerian brands. Out of 80 entries received, Heineken Nigeria was proclaimed Brand of the Year and won Campaign of the Year, while Heineken's Obabiyi Fagade was named Brand Manager of the Year. You can find the full list of winners here.
In a separate event, ADVAN unveiled its 25th anniversary logo. Commenting on the association turning 25, Folake said: “In 25 years ADVAN has gained tremendous relevance and tangible value for advertisers. We have also achieved quite a number of milestones. At 25 years ADVAN has come of age and it is time we begin to use the voice that we have to impact the industry positively.”
