22 May 2018, Tokyo: The WFA has announced that the next Global Marketer Week will take place in Lisbon, in collaboration with the Association of Portuguese Advertisers (APAN).

With the economic picture improving across Europe, the event represents a unique opportunity to understand the new opportunities across the region, as well as in Portugal and the Iberian peninsula.

Taking place on March 26-29 2019, the showpiece event will be the WFA/APAN co-hosted Global Marketer Conference, which will bring together some of the global industry’s leading lights to share strategies for growth in a fast-changing world and inspire marketers with innovation across a wide range of categories, media channels and regions.

The week will also include a number of side events for both public affairs and marketing professionals designed to highlight how marketers now need to integrate policy priorities into their overall marketing strategies if they are to remain in tune with their consumers.

APAN was founded in 1987 and joined the WFA in 1988. Next year will be the first time for six years that Global Marketer Week has been held in Europe. Since Brussels in 2013, Global Marketer Week has been to Sydney (2014), Marrakesh (2015), Kuala Lumpur (2016), Toronto (2017) and Tokyo (2018).

I am very much looking forward to Lisbon in 2019. It’s a unique chance to celebrate the improved economic outlook in Portugal as well as the country’s historic connections across Southern Europe and beyond. This is a great chance to debate the way forward for our industry in one of Europe’s most dynamic and exciting markets,” said Stephan Loerke, CEO of the WFA.

We are thrilled to be partnering with the WFA to bring Global Marketer Week to Portugal. As the world’s largest client-side marketer event there’s a huge amount that local brands will be able to learn as well as lots of insight that we can share with visitors from around the world,” said Manuela Botelho, the Secretary General of APAN.
