The Singapore Advertisers Association (SAA) elected a new board and named Edwin Teoh, Assistant Director at Canon Singapore, as president at the association’s annual meeting in October. He takes over from Oliver Chong, former VP Brand & Marketing Communications at StarHub, who held the post over the past year.

Edwin Teoh has been with Canon since 2000 and leads the marketing division of the company’s Singapore operations. He is responsible for Canon’s B2C and B2B marketing strategies and campaigns. He was recognised as Marketer of the Year at the Singapore Media Awards in 2014 and named by CMO Asia as one of Asia’s best marketers in 2016.

Commenting on what he will be focusing on during his term, Edwin said, “We aim to equip our members with knowledge, so that they navigate effectively evolving trends and complexities to engage their target audience. At the same time, SAA plays an imperative role in continuously building a strong ecosystem with creative agencies and media owners to establish winning partnerships. Building on the foundation laid by previous Executive Committees, my team and I will aspire to make the association a more visible and vibrant cog in the industry”.

The SAA’s new board consists of:

    • Edwin Teoh, Canon Singapore (President)

    • Chow Phee Chat, Nestle Singapore (Vice President)

    • Jennifer See, F&N Foods (Vice President)

    • Benjamin Teh, Pilot Pen Singapore (Secretary)

    • Tan Fong Kum, Aesthetic Bay (Treasurer)

    • Dawn Lee, Health Promotion Board

    • Eric Teoh, Golf Tours Singapore

    • Joe Loy, Manulife
