As negotiations between EU institutions on a final text are nearing, Jef De Wit, WFA Junior Digital Policy Manager, outlined latest developments on the Digital Services Act and Digital Markets Act.
One year has passed since the transposition deadline for Member States to adopt the revised Audiovisual and Media Services Directive (AVMSD) into national law. Jon Baldwin Quintanilla, WFA Junior Policy & Communications Manager, gave an overview of the latest status. Barry Dooley, CEO of the Association of Advertisers in Ireland (AAI), explained how Ireland, where most of the biggest video-sharing platforms have their European HQ, is moving ahead by proposing an Online Safety and Media Regulation Bill.
Raelene Martin, Deputy Director, Trade and Investment at ICC, presented members with an overview of the updated ICC Framework for Responsible Environmental Marketing Communications. Fraser Bridges, WFA Assistant Policy Manager, gave members an overview of the EU’s upcoming initiatives on environmental claims and greenwashing in marketing.
Gabrielle Robitaille, WFA Digital Policy Manager, provided a brief update on the negotiations on the EU Code of Practice on Disinformation, the ePrivacy Regulation, and the Commission’s proposal on political advertising transparency.
