Announcement Mumbai

The event will take place in Mumbai from March 18 to 21 with the flagship Global Marketer Conference happening on Thursday March 20th.

Global Marketer Week was last held in India in 2008 and since then the country, which now has a population of 1.4 bn, has become increasingly important for brand owners.

It is now the largest advertising market in South Asia and the fourth biggest ad market in Asia (behind China, Japan and South Korea) with data from Dentsu India predicting that the advertising economy is expected to grow by 10% for each of the next two years.

“We’re thrilled to be heading to Mumbai next year to celebrate the wonderful profession we all work in. India has become a key destination for many of our corporate members and this will be a real opportunity to get under the skin of this unique country and understand what really matters to consumers”, said Stephan Loerke, CEO of WFA.

“It’s a great honour to bring Global Marketer Week back to India. We look forward to showing the world how India has evolved to become the fastest growing economy in the world and the strength of the local brands that compete successfully with global brands of many WFA member companies”, said Sunil Kataria, Chairman, ISA.

The ISA was one of the founder members of the WFA back in 1953, attending the launch event organised by Count Metello Rossi di Montelera – of Martini & Rossi fame – in Stresa, Italy, alongside advertising associations from Italy, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland.
