WFA News July 2024

It’s been a busy three months for the WFA team and we’ve published a host of reports designed to help you deliver better marketing across key areas from AI and DEI to Positive Marketing Frameworks and Marketing Capabilities.

You can also re-watch the keynote speakers from Global Marketer Week in Toronto, including Dr Marcus Collins, whose presentation on cultural catalysts is now available to non-WFA members as well.

For brands seeking to develop frameworks to guide responsible marketing across areas such as sustainability, data ethics and brand purpose, the WFA’s model Framework for Positive Marketing Behaviours, which was launched at Global Marketer Week, is available here.

Those who are keen to develop their AI skills, can find our benchmarking report on Generative AI Upskilling and our report on Responsible AI principles.

Extending our important work on DEI, we’ve published guidance on how brands can ensure the production process, both in front of and behind the camera can be made more accessible to all communities. Unlocking Creativity: The Impact of DEI in Content Production is available for download.

Amid signs that some brands were DEI-hushing and going quiet on their inclusion initiatives, WFA Stephan Loerke issued a public call at Cannes for the industry not to back off from DEI initiatives. You can see his call to action and the WFA’s on-going commitment to this important work.

Alongside these initiatives, you can also read more about Halo, our cross-media measurement solution advertisers have been demanding for years, and the new members of our new Asia advisory board.

Finally, we’ve released our research into the challenge of measuring progress on Marketing Capabilities as well as our look at predicted media spend for 2024, highlighting the growth of retail media networks.
